United Engineering Group has been working since 1991 — soil testing, materials analysis, engineering studies, and the contract arbitration and claims work that follows when a project goes wrong. Three decades of that is an enormous amount of credibility, and none of it was reaching anyone who had not already worked with them.

It is also unusually hard to explain. The people who commission soil testing know exactly what they need; the people who need an expert witness in a construction dispute often do not know that is what they are looking for. Enquiries go through a consultation request rather than a generic contact box. Someone with a soil report to commission and someone with a contract dispute need different first conversations, and the form asks enough to know which one is arriving.

It is built to be read on a phone on a site as readily as at a desk, and to be usable with a screen reader and a keyboard — which for a firm doing public-sector and institutional work is a procurement requirement as much as a courtesy.
