A website for an engineering consultancy working in soil testing, materials analysis, engineering studies and contract arbitration.
United Engineering Group has been working since 1991 — soil testing, materials analysis, engineering studies, and the contract arbitration and claims work that follows when a project goes wrong. Three decades of that is an enormous amount of credibility, and none of it was reaching anyone who had not already worked with them.
It is also unusually hard to explain. The people who commission soil testing know exactly what they need; the people who need an expert witness in a construction dispute often do not know that is what they are looking for. One site has to serve both without patronising the first or losing the second.
A site that leads with what the firm does and how long it has been doing it. In engineering consultancy, longevity is the credential — a firm that has been testing ground conditions since 1991 has seen more of them than one founded last year, and that is the first thing a prospective client is weighing.
The services are laid out so the two audiences can both find themselves: the testing and analysis work stated plainly for people who already know what they are buying, and the arbitration and claims side explained in terms of the situation rather than the discipline, for people arriving mid-dispute.
Enquiries go through a consultation request rather than a generic contact box. Someone with a soil report to commission and someone with a contract dispute need different first conversations, and the form asks enough to know which one is arriving.
It is built to be read on a phone on a site as readily as at a desk, and to be usable with a screen reader and a keyboard — which for a firm doing public-sector and institutional work is a procurement requirement as much as a courtesy.
Tell us what you are trying to build and MaffeiTech will scope it with you.
